E-ZPassThe primary toll pass for the state of Maine is the E-ZPass

The following transponders are accepted on the Maine Turnpike. Any toll pass/transponder with a logo matching those shown below will be compatible with the network on the Maine Turnpike

Be aware that discount tolls, those given for using a toll pass or transponder, may be restricted or otherwise limited to only that specific pass issued by Maine. Compatible passes issued by states other than Maine may not qualify for discount tolls, although the transponder will work on the Maine Turnpike.

The following class or axle definitions will apply for your travel on the Maine Turnpike. A list of compatible toll transponders is shown below.

Remember, when counting axles, make certain to count all axles with wheels touching the ground. Be sure to include axles on any trailers your vehicle may be towing. That is the criteria for determining the total axles on your vehicle.

The Maine Turnpike uses the following class definitions for vehicles:

  • ► Class 1: Two-axle, four-tire cars, trucks, SUVs - no trailer 
  • ► Class 2: Two-axle, six-tire vehicles, incl. trailer 
  • ► Class 3: Three-axle vehicles, incl. trailer
