The Carquinez Bridge span is about 0.8 miles long on the eastbound span, and 0.7 miles long on the westbound span. The bridges are part of Interstate 80 and can only be accessed while driving I-80 between Crockett and Vallejo, California.
The Carquinez Bridge is one of two sets of bridges that cross the Carquinez Strait. In fact, the Carquinez Bridges are also known as the Carquinez Strait Bridge. The other bridge set crossing the strait is at the Benicia-Martinez Bridge, where tolls are charged for northbound travelers.
Tolls on the Carquinez Bridge are charged in the eastbound direction only, and only after crossing the span. For calculating tolls, several exits west and east of the span are shown, to help with reference and locating.
