Gas Price Report For May 21, 2018

Gas price trend for the week of May 21, 2018

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Gas prices continued their upward climb during the past week, according to the latest weekly survey from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The E.I.A.’s weekly fuel price survey shows the average price of gas jumped another nickel per gallon during the week to $2.92. That figure represents more than 30-cents’ worth of price hikes in the past two months, as crude oil prices surge amid global tensions and the approach of the summer driving season.

Prices went up in all regions, although the range of increases varied widely, from just over two cents in the Lower Atlantic states, to over seven cents per gallon across the New England states, according to the weekly survey.

Truckers were hit with a four-cent per gallon increase in average diesel prices this week. The E.I.A. reports the average price for a gallon of diesel is now $3.28.

This week’s average fuel prices for all regions are shown below, as gathered from www.eia.gov.
