Gas Price Report For May 7, 2018

Gas price report for May 7, 2018

Fort Lauderdale, FL – For the first time in four weeks, the nation’s gas prices finally leveled off, although not in all regions. Gas price data were released in the weekly fuel price survey from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, which shows the nation’s average gas price was flat week over week, holding at nearly $2.85 per gallon.

Many regions enjoyed a flattening of the increasing price curve, though not all. Drivers on the West Coast and across New England had price increases of about three and two cents per gallon, respectively, according to the survey report. However, drivers in the Midwest enjoyed a price decline of about three cents per gallon.

Truckers were still hit with another diesel price increase this week. The E.I.A. reports the average cost of diesel went up a little over a penny per gallon, bringing the average price to just over $3.17.

This week’s average fuel prices for all regions are shown below, as gathered from www.eia.gov.
