Gas Price Report For April 16, 2018

Gas price trend for week of April 16, 2018

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Drivers are once again feeling a strong pinch at the gas pump, as this week’s gas price survey from the U.S. Energy Information Administration details. The weekly report shows the average cost of a gallon of gas jumped over a nickel per gallon on the week to settle over $2.74. In all, gas prices have gone up nearly 18¢ since per gallon, on average, since the start of March. That figure is calculated from E.I.A. surveys dating to March 5.

Prices lurched significantly higher across the Rocky Mountain states, where average prices jumped by nearly ten cents per gallon. Along the Gulf Coast, where costs are traditionally the lowest, gas prices surged well over seven cents per gallon to settle a fraction under $2.50. Prices were up in all regions.

Truckers were also hit with a spike in diesel prices this week, the E.I.A. reported. The weekly price survey shows average diesel costs hit $3.10 per gallon, after rising over six cents this week. As with regular gas, diesel prices were up in all regions.

Fuel prices for all regions are shown below, as gathered from www.eia.gov.
