Gas Price Report For February 12, 2018

Gas price trend for week of February 12, 2018

Fort Lauderdale, FL – After weeks of unrelenting increases, the price of gas finally gave some ground this week, according to the latest fuel-price survey from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The E.I.A. report shows the nation’s average gas price dropped three cents during the week, the first time prices have gone down since just before the Christmas holiday. The nation’s average gas price now stands about about $2.61 per gallon.

The price drop did not hit every region. New England drivers and those across the West Coast, sans California, had a bump in prices. All other regions enjoyed a price decline, led by the Midwest, where prices plunged over seven cents per gallon, according to the E.I.A.

Truckers got a decent break in prices at the pump this week, by the survey numbers. The cost of diesel dropped, on average, just over two cents per gallon this week to settle at $3.06.

Fuel prices for all regions are shown below, as gathered from www.eia.gov.
