Fort Lauderdale, FL – Gas prices continued their upward trajectory during the past week, according to the latest weekly price survey from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded, according to the E.I.A., is now nearly $2.64, up another three cents on the week. Every region was hit hard this week, particularly the West Coast, where prices jumped nearly six cents per gallon. Prices nudged upward in the Rockies, up just over a penny; and across the Gulf Coast and Central Atlantic, prices went up about two cents per gallon. In most other regions, price increases were generally around the national average of three cents per gallon. Truck drivers got hit once more, but the diesel price increase not as steep this week. The nation’s average price for a gallon of diesel increased about a penny and a half per gallon, pushing the cost of diesel to about $3.09.
