Gas Price Report For January 29, 2018

Gas price trend for week of January 29, 2018

Fort Lauderdale, FL – The rate of price increases at the gas pump returned to its former, frenetic pace during the past week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The weekly E.I.A. fuel price survey shows the average cost of a gallon of regular unleaded gas shot upward by four cents per gallon to $2.61. No region was spared gas price increases this week; but as often happens, the rate of the increases varied widely from one survey district to the next. On the West Coast, prices jumped by over six cents per gallon; whereas, in the Rockies, prices only nudged upward by about a penny per gallon.  Truck drivers got hit just as hard this week, as the nation’s average price for a gallon of diesel lurched upward by well over four cents, pushing the average cost of diesel to $3.07 per gallon. Prices soared across the Gulf Coast and Midwest, where costs for truckers were up between a nickel and six cents per gallon, respectively. Fuel prices for all regions are shown below, as gathered from www.eia.gov.

Gas Price Report For January 22, 2018

Gas price trend for week of January 22, 2018

Fort Lauderdale, FL – The nation’s gas prices continued rising during the past week, but the spate of weekly increases hit its lowest level in weeks, according to the latest release from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The E.I.A.’s weekly gas price survey shows the pace of increases, at least at the national level, was held to just a penny per gallon, bringing the cost of regular unleaded to $2.57. The Midwest was the only region to enjoy a price decline this week, but that was only to give back about half of last-week’s heart-stopping eight-cent price increase. Elsewhere, prices were up anywhere from a penny per gallon, as across the West Coast, to over a nickel per gallon across the Lower Atlantic states. Truck drivers got little break in prices this week, by the numbers in the E.I.A. report, but not all regions enjoyed a decline in fuel prices. Nonetheless, the nation’s average diesel price held steady at $3.03 per gallon, with price declines of one to two cents from the Gulf Coast to the West Coast. Trucking across the Rocky Mountains got three cents cheaper, per gallon, on the week. Fuel prices for all regions are shown below, as gathered from www.eia.gov.

Gas price trend for week of January 15, 2018

Fort Lauderdale, FL – As they started the year, gas prices came out of the second holiday weekend of 2018 with a strong increase, according to the weekly fuel price survey released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. The E.I.A. survey shows the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is now nearly $2.56, an increase of nearly four cents over last week. Price changes were strongest across the Midwest, where volatility is normal. Nonetheless, this week’s eight-cent price hike likely stunned drivers, already suffering under potent, back-to-back winter storms. Elsewhere across the U.S., the E.I.A. report details price increases ranging from just under a penny per gallon on the West Coast to between three and four cents per gallon across both the Lower Atlantic and Gulf Coast regions. Prices dipped slightly in New England, according to the E.I.A., the only region to enjoy a price decline. Truck drivers took yet another hit this week, with the national average closing out the week over the three-dollar mark, according to the E.I.A.. The nation’s average cost for a gallon of diesel increased over three cents per gallon this week to settle at nearly $3.03. Fuel prices for all regions are shown below, as gathered from www.eia.gov.

Across New England and the Central Atlantic states, the opposite was true as prices rose well over two cents per gallon. Prices across the West Coast rose nearly four cents per gallon to settle over the $3.00 mark for the first time in several weeks. Truck drivers took another hard hit this week, according to the E.I.A. survey report. The nation’s average cost for a gallon of diesel increased over two cents per gallon this week, with far higher price increases felt across the Central Atlantic and New England states. Nationally, the average cost for a gallon of diesel is now just a fraction of a penny shy of $3.00. Fuel prices for all regions are shown below, as gathered from www.eia.gov.
