Gas price trend for December 7, 2015Las Vegas, NV – The price of gas remained steady or declined slightly during the past week. Prices in a third survey district fell under the $2.00 per gallon threshold, helping to bring the U.S. average down a penny to $2.05. The price changes were detailed in the regular weekly updated from the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

Prices in the Lower Atlantic states fell to an average $1.98 per gallon, making it the third region of eight where prices are under the $2.00 threshold. The other two are the Midwest and the gulf coast. Prices in the Midwest ticked up slightly, to $1.89, the only region where prices edge higher. However, the Midwest has long been subjected to regional pricing volatility. Along the gulf coast, prices fell slightly in many areas, but the district’s official average price point remained the same, at $1.82.
